Real Estate Agents Cry The Blues

Posted under: Issues

The downturn in the real estate market is starting to take its toll on the agents working in the province. “The longer we see markets at the current level of sales, the more chance we’ll see a decline in the number of realtors in the province, as some realtors choose to take early retirement or choose to hang up their licences due to lack of business”.

From: News 1130

* Oh cry me a river! Give me a break. These people who have helped to over-inflate home values all across the province especially here in Vancouver are all upset at the crash of the housing bubble and now they find it hard to find work? TOUGH LUCK! You created the problem, now you are going to be a victim of the problem you greedy idiots helped cause! I hope you all end up on welfare!

B.C.’s Transportation System 2nd Worst In Canada

Posted under: Issues

A new study released today by the Fraser Institute ranks B.C.’s transportation system as one of the worst in Canada. The Fraser Institute also says B.C. has the most costly transit system with only average per-capita transit use.

Well no kidding! It didn’t take a study to determine this, just ask the people of Vancouver and transit users. We are totally raped again in terms of fees in exchange for crappy service. Translink needs to be torn apart and rebuilt. All the people on the top need to fired, and younger more intelligent people need to step up to the plate with the first thing being reduction in the cost of fares.

Rally To Demand More Affordable Housing In Vancouver

Posted under: Issues

I’m going to reprint this article before it becomes washed away by other media, such as other non-important things like another drive by shooting.

Hundreds have gathered on the steps of Vancouver City Hall, carrying signs saying “Homes for Everyone” and “Have You Been Evicted Yet?”

The protest was organized by the Housing Coalition, and has been gathering steam, since people started camping out on city hall’s steps on Wednesday, to try to bring attention to issues surrounding the lack of affordable housing.

“I have lived in Vancouver all my life. I don’t like what I see happening. I don’t like seeing so many homeless people living on the streets. I don’t like that friends and family cannot afford housing within the city, and I think it’s very ugly,” says Melanie, one of the protesters.

NEWS1130

It’s sad in a Province spending millions of dollars on the useless Olympics, that they can’t even afford low cost housing for people on Welfare, Disability, or Homeless. In a city where greed has overtaken the market, and rent fees are inflated beyond what people can afford EVEN with a minimum wage job, maybe it’s time for regulated rental fee’s.

The economy is failing due to 3 things, Oil Companies, Banking Systems, and Housing Costs. All the greedy idiots that have been milking the system dry, are all about to get hit right back where they deserve. The wallet. More is coming.. The poor will rise up, and that will be a glorious day!

Still Getting Gouged At The Pump!!

Posted under: Issues

WOW! Why are we STILL paying $1.21 per litre for gas here in the Metro Vancouver area?

With today’s crude oil price of $70.02 USD per barrel and the US dollar at $1.18 CAD, the price of regular unleaded gasoline in Vancouver should be $1.05 per litre at normal profit margins.

At a price of $1.21 per litre, you are paying 14.8¢ per litre in pure excess profit. Across Canada, an extra margin of 14.8¢ per litre generates an additional profit of 14.8 million dollars per day.

The media, Newspapers, TV, and Radio need to get the stories out! They need to put pressure on the gougers here in Vancouver! It’s their responsibility to inform the public so the average person who is oblivious to anything other than his/her coffee can wake up and do something about it.
