really can't wait to get season 4 on DVD, but with the reduced number of episoodes, maybe (15?), should we not expect it at a discount, lower than S1 thru S3?

A&B died because it was initially a family run business that lacked the resources & vision to compete with Big Box retailers (Future Shop, Best Buy, COSTCO) with superior purchasing power. Even with the new owners, they entered too late into a market, especially with viable competitors entrenched in the market.

In the world of consumer electronics, you either go big or go small as a niche player. There's no room for any medium sized businesses as they simply get squeezed out. A&B sound is a typical example.

At first I was going to say, "what, you didn't notice until now?" But then I realized it was myself who didn't notice that's already been close to a year since the parity... And to date only one of my favourite stores (a local comics shop) has been selling product for US-cover-price (and they've been doing that for nearly a year before parity so I've been saving a ton of money)... what's shocking is how uncommon this practice is.
I can't believe how little I buy from Canadian retailers BECAUSE of this price difference...

Umm, the Surrey Central location closed years ago. Judging from the "locations" list on absound.com, they're down to six stores now. Sad, very sad.

I agree that the technology should be defect free by now. It's nothing more than shoddy production and crappy manufacturing that these flaws occur so much. I often read about people buying a new LCD monitor and having to return it up to 3 times before getting a good one! That's pathetic! These companies waste more money on defective products than if they just did it right the first time even if it costs them a few bucks more.

You'd think that a mature tech like LCD would be defect free by now... but companies still offer different policies on how to deal with this (some depend on where on the screen the stuck pixel is, etc).

My PSP has a stuck pixel and it's been like that since day 1. And on a tiny screen like a PSP, believe you mean, it's there! But oddly enough, it's not noticeable when the device is actually in use - only during loading, etc, when the screen is totally black and static.
