Misae introduced me to a Japanese singing group made up of 3 girls that are pretty cute. Of course the music is the important part, and it’s very interesting along with the singing style. I don’t really like Japanese pop music much but something about this group is different and kinda fun to listen too. So here is a recent video from “Perfume” Love The World.
Ah.. I remember back in the days when Twins were so popular! I miss those days! Twins were so cute! So in remembrance of those days, here is a Twins pic with a header I wrote over top the photo. It says: “Don’t mess with DJ Specs… cuz we will kick your ass!” LOL!
Oh man.. hard to believe there was a time rap music had an intelligent message to it. Check this out.. it was a song released in 1992 by The Disposable Heroes Of Hiphoprisy. Man, if I played it to today’s youth, they would just have a blank face because they probably wouldn’t understand a word of what this song is saying. More proof that today’s rap is nothing but pure crap!
UMC’s were in my opinion one of the greatest Hip Hop artists to ever record an album. I know there are many great artists that have made many albums etc.. but this CD, Fruits Of Nature is the ultimate! Every track is amazingly produced and put together. Every song is catchy and has awesome lyrics. Another amazing thing about this album is it was intelligent and clean. No swearing, sex or violence. This album is simply an album I can be proud to play anywhere no matter who is listening. This album, and the group deserve an achievement award, simple as that! Thank you Kool Kim & Hass G for this epic work of art!
I’ve had a UMC’s tape and CD and now a USB stick in my car since I had my first car in 1993. They have never left me, and never will. I never get bored with this CD.
Actually I wish Rhino Records would pick up the rights to re-master and re-release this album. That would be sweet!
The other sweet thing would be if UMC’s would re-unite and come out with a new album or EP along the same lines as Fruits Of Nature!
If you can find this album anywhere, GET IT! In the meantime, enjoy this video from the UMC’s, 1990’s style! Blue Cheese!
Yes, Digital Underground is still around, always evolving.. Shock G dropped the latest album about a month or two ago. Of course it’s not available in Canada, so you will have to download it, legally or otherwise. It’s a shame though since you want to support the artists you love, but you really have no choice!
The album is not too bad, it’s experimental as always, but it has a couple nice throwbacks to the early years, or Sex Packets era. Shock G, Money B, & Humpty are all here, plus a bunch of other no namers.. (I wish they had the original crew..) but it’s not too bad. I do miss the Humpty Dance type tracks though from back in the days…
